A rose at the September 11, 2001 memorial

Remembering September 11, 2001- a day that shook our nation. A day full of fear, confusion, and sadness. It is difficult to truly understand the magnitude of the devastation that ensued as a result of the terrorist attacks. A total number of 2,996 people were killed. This includes those in the Pentagon, Twin Towers, the flights, first responders, and the terrorists.

On a small scale, these attacks brought war to US soil— a horror that younger generations do not understand. Although it was horrific, the attacks created a newfound sense of patriotism. Support for the president, military, and country was high.

Today we are remembering September 11, 2001 and those who died 19 years ago. We are remembering our heroes. They are forever in our hearts.

Lest we forget.
